Kratom AlkaloidsKratom can be considered the jack of all trades in regards to the strains and colors and can seem complicated from the outside looking in. There are many different names and colors, and at times can get confusing. Kratom is simple when broken down the right way, so allow me to elaborate a bit on this rarely documented topic.

Kratom comes from regions throughout Indonesia, Malaysia, Borneo and Thailand and the kratom effects are defined by this, taking into account the climate, ore composition and more. Borneo strains are known to be the most pain relieving and can provide some energy when used to the correct dosage. Thai strains are the most energizing and do provide a decent amount of pain relief. Malaysian (Malay) strains tend to extend the effects and last the longest.  Malay is the happy medium of pain relief and energy. Next is the color of each strain. Each leaf has a certain color vein that runs through it and this vein can also define a strains effects. These colors include white, red and green. White’s and Green’s are pain relieving and energizing whereas Reds are also pain relieving, but can be more sedating when taken in higher amounts. Combine the Origin with its color and you have yourself a unique product.

The ore composition, or soil, of each of these regions, along with the climate is what makes each Kratom leaf unique and different from another. The combination of these properties will affect the strength and abundance of the active alkaloids found in the leaf matter. A few of these active alkaloids include mitragynine, 7-hydroxymitragynine, and mitraphylline.

These, of course, are not all of the places or colors that Kratom comes in, but they are the most common. This will provide you with a good basis for comparison when looking for your perfect Kratom strain.
